Testimonials

One of the joys for me of the past few years has been working with Lisa Kaplan Shaanan as she creates beautifully paced, sensitive, intelligent, relevant, and meaningful workshops for the ECE and TK Community in Marin County.  Lisa's skill with technology and calm presence was critical for our learning community in April and May of 2020, before everyone knew what zoom was.  She was able to engage and teach the content of our workshops (Inclusive Practices in Early Childhood settings) as well as skills to use both zoom and google docs.

Lisa is incredibly resourceful and supports her work with research and materials to support educators, caregivers, administrators, parents/families, coaches and children.  She brings a rich sense of humor, abundant experience and grace to every meeting and workshop.  It is an honor and pleasure to work with Lisa Kaplan Shaanan.

Lisa is a truly gifted early childhood coach and trainer. Over the past 10 years, she has been a valuable partner with our infant/toddler and preschool teachers. I've love to see how our teachers evolve in their craft as educational leaders.  She is thoughtful, compassionate and supports each teacher at their certain point in their journey.  Lisa has also provided a variety of hands-on and engaging training (i.e., setting up your classroom to be engaging and inclusive to how to support children with challenging behaviors). Lisa is deeply invested in our continued growth and success.  More recently, I've had the opportunity to learn about anti-bias and trauma informed practices and appreciate her equity lens. Working with Lisa has been a transformational experience.

"... the part of the workshop I found most interesting was about how to help kids recognize when they are feeling too alert (in fight or flight mode) or not alert enough to learn"

"... I’m still thinking through the different ways I might incorporate what I learned from the class into my library programs, but as a parent, I found it fascinating."

Lisa is my first choice when contracting out for professional development for early learning educators. Her expertise is far reaching as an Occupational Therapist and educator. She clearly understands and demonstrates the learning needs of both adults and our earliest learners. Lisa's creative, research-based sessions, content rich materials and engagement strategies are award worthy. Couple these skills with her knowledge, patience, calming presence, and technology skills, Lisa is a gift to all learners of all ages.
