In this exciting series of workshops, we explore the impact of Systemic Racism and Implicit Bias on young children's success in mathematics. Using the principles of Universal Design for Learning, we investigate strategies to minimize the opportunity gap for these children of promise.
In this foundational workshop series we explore the "What" and "Why" of Inclusion. In order for an early childhood education setting to provide truly successful inclusion opportunities, it is central that the teaching teams have a clear understanding of Inclusion. This includes a creating a shared definition, understanding of the research and laws supporting Inclusion and awareness of common beliefs, values and bias related to Inclusion.
In looking at learning from the perspective of sensory processing, before a child is ready to learn and retain new and complex concepts there are foundational needs that must be met. This workshop provides both theoretical and concrete explanations of these needs and a wide range of strategies that can be used to meet them:
