In this exciting series of workshops, we explore the impact of Systemic Racism and Implicit Bias on young children's success in mathematics. Using the principles of Universal Design for Learning, we investigate strategies to minimize the opportunity gap for these children of promise.
"Are we there yet?" This classic question of young children can be answered by teaching children to understand the concepts of maps and locations. When children are introduced to these concepts they often become fascinated by creating 2D and 3D representations of the world around them.

Children's Literature is a unique resource to help young children learn about themselves, their families and a diverse world. In this workshop we will review a wide range of children's books and discuss how adults can use them to support an anti-bias curriculum in early childhood education settings.
